MICROMILSPEC Introduces the Fieldmaster, a New Generation of Professional Military-Inspired Watches

Developed through three years of field testing with serving military personnel, the Swiss-made Fieldmaster combines a lightweight titanium case, a HORAGE K3 automatic movement, and more than 100 hours of power reserve.

Norwegian watch design studio MICROMILSPEC has introduced the Fieldmaster, a new professional field watch developed around the practical requirements of military personnel. Officially announced on September 2, 2026, the timepiece combines functional design, advanced movement technology, and a construction shaped by real-world field testing.

The Fieldmaster's development builds on MICROMILSPEC's Field Test Program, which began in 2019 with 30 serving military personnel. Participants tested prototype watches over three years, providing feedback on legibility, durability, weight, accuracy, and performance in demanding working environments. The resulting Fieldmaster reflects the company's approach of developing watches around the needs of their intended users rather than relying solely on traditional field-watch conventions.

One of the model's defining features is its 40mm Grade 5 titanium case, measuring just 11.2mm thick. The lightweight construction is designed to improve comfort during extended wear, while water resistance of up to 200 meters adds practical versatility. The watch is available in two finishes: microblasted titanium and a Gunpowder DLC-coated version.

The dial follows a deliberately functional layout. Its matte-black, grained surface features Lumicast hands and indexes designed for clear reading. Hours, minutes, small seconds, and the date are displayed on the front, while the power-reserve indicator is positioned on the reverse. The small-seconds sub-dial also keeps the central hands visually uncluttered.

Powering the Fieldmaster is the HORAGE K3 automatic movement, developed and manufactured in Bienne, Switzerland, in collaboration with MICROMILSPEC. The calibre features a silicon escapement, pallet fork, balance wheel, and hairspring. These components help resist magnetic interference, an important consideration for professionals who work around powered equipment.

The movement is regulated to a stated accuracy of -4 to +6 seconds per day and offers more than 100 hours of power reserve. Operating at 25,200 vibrations per hour, the K3 is designed to provide extended running time between periods of wear. Its power-reserve indicator is located on the back of the watch, preserving the uncluttered appearance of the dial.

The Fieldmaster will be offered in limited annual production. According to MICROMILSPEC, the first edition comprises 75 Gunpowder DLC models and 75 titanium models, making a total of 150 watches across the two finishes. The watch is available to order, with first deliveries expected in May 2027.

The announced US prices are US$2,995 on a rubber strap and from US$3,655 on a titanium bracelet. The company's product page also lists the model as Swiss made and provides made-to-order purchasing options.

MICROMILSPEC specializes in developing custom Swiss-made watches for military units, first responders, and selected organizations. Its wider portfolio includes the Milgraph, Combat Diver, and Field Testing Unit, reflecting its emphasis on purpose-built timekeeping instruments.

With the Fieldmaster, MICROMILSPEC brings together feedback from military users, contemporary materials, and a movement engineered for extended autonomy and resistance to magnetism. The result is a professional field watch designed to address the practical demands of modern use while retaining a restrained, purpose-driven aesthetic.
