Swiss watchmaker Delma continues its long-standing tradition of robust and purpose-built timepieces with the Oceanmaster Lume, a distinctive sports watch designed with both divers and sailors in mind.
Founded in 1924 by brothers Adolf and Albert Gilomen under the name A. & A. Gilomen, the company adopted the Delma name in 1966. Today, the Swiss marque is based in Lengnau and is recognised for producing robust sports and diving watches with a strong emphasis on functionality.
The Oceanmaster collection has become one of Delma's signature families, distinguished by its nautical approach to the traditional dive watch. Rather than relying solely on a conventional 60-minute diving scale, the Oceanmaster incorporates a compass bezel, tactical planner and points-of-sail indicators, giving the watch practical applications for sailing and navigation.
The Oceanmaster Lume takes this concept further with a striking fully lumed dial designed to maximise legibility in low-light conditions. Delma offers the model in four dial colours: Dark Blue, Dark Green, Dark Orange and Dark Yellow. The tactical planner and contrasting dial markings are designed to remain easy to read while providing sailing-related information.
Measuring 44 mm in diameter and 13.8 mm thick, the watch features a robust 316L stainless-steel case with a sapphire crystal and screw-down crown protected by prominent crown guards. Despite its substantial dimensions, its 51 mm lug-to-lug measurement helps make the watch more wearable on the wrist.
Powering the Oceanmaster Lume is the proven Sellita SW200-1 automatic movement, operating at 4Hz with 26 jewels and offering approximately 41 hours of power reserve. The watch also features a date display at 6 o'clock.
One of the model's defining characteristics is its 500-metre water resistance, reinforcing its credentials as a serious underwater timepiece. At the same time, the nautical bezel and tactical planner give it a more specialised identity, particularly for sailing enthusiasts.
According to Escapement Magazine's review, the Delma Oceanmaster Lume was priced at US$1,650 RRP as of October 25, 2025, positioning the model as a feature-rich Swiss mechanical watch at a comparatively accessible price point.
