Venezianico

VENEZIANICO“The Renaissance of Watchmaking”

Venezianico is an independent Italian watch brand founded in 2017 by brothers Alberto and Alessandro Morelli. Based in the Veneto region, the brand draws heavily on the history, architecture, and artistic heritage of Venice, translating elements of the city's Renaissance and maritime culture into contemporary mechanical watches.

The company originally operated under the name Meccaniche Veneziane before adopting Venezianico in 2022. Its watches are designed around the idea of combining Italian creativity and Venetian identity with modern mechanical watchmaking. Collections including Redentore, Nereide, Arsenale, and Bucintoro demonstrate this approach.

The story began when Alberto and Alessandro were studying at Ca' Foscari University in Venice. While walking through Piazza San Marco, they noticed the golden Renaissance cross atop the city's historic Clock Tower. That detail became an important source of inspiration for the brand and its logo.

Founders – Alberto Morelli & Alessandro Morelli

Alberto Morelli and Alessandro Morelli founded Venezianico in 2017. The brothers shared an interest in mechanical watches and design and wanted to create watches that expressed the character of their hometown, Venice. Their backgrounds in economics—Alberto specializing in finance and Alessandro in marketing—also provided complementary skills for building the company.

Their early growth was accelerated by crowdfunding, while the brand subsequently expanded its international distribution and product range. Today, Venezianico has established itself as one of the more visible emerging names in Italian independent watchmaking.

Current CEO – Alberto Morelli

Alberto Morelli serves as CEO and co-founder of Venezianico. He has played a leading role in the company's business strategy, international expansion, and development as an independent Italian watchmaker. Forbes Italia has identified Morelli as the company's CEO and founder.

Alberto has also gained recognition beyond the company: in 2022, he was included in Forbes Italia's Top 100 Under 30, and he later joined the GPHG Academy, further strengthening his profile within the international watchmaking community.

In 2025, Venezianico also introduced the V5000, a fully Italian-designed and manufactured mechanical movement, representing an important step in the brand's ambition to develop deeper technical independence.
