Trafford Watch Co. is an independent American watch brand based in Austin, Texas, founded in 2020 by British-born designer Nathan Trafford. The brand describes its design philosophy as “Modern Americana,” combining Nathan's British design background with the independent spirit and visual culture of Austin.
Trafford focuses on watches that tell a story rather than simply displaying the time. Its designs are characterized by distinctive case shapes, expressive colors, strong typography, and vintage-inspired details. Models such as the Crossroads, Touring GMT, and Daytripper have helped establish the brand within the independent microbrand community.
Founder – Nathan Trafford
Nathan Trafford is the founder and designer behind Trafford Watch Co. Originally from northern England and now based in Austin, Nathan studied Communication Design and Photography before spending more than a decade working in advertising, eventually becoming a Creative Director.
His interest in watches developed through sketching watch designs and creating custom digital watch faces. What began as a creative exercise eventually evolved into the idea of producing physical timepieces, leading to the creation of Trafford Watch Co.
