Seals Watch Company is an independent American watch brand founded in 2014 by Michael Seals in El Dorado Hills, California. The company focuses on practical, purpose-built automatic tool watches, combining rugged case architecture with dependable movements, strong water resistance and everyday wearability. Michael Seals designs every watch himself, while the watches are assembled on demand in Sacramento, California. The brand's visual language draws inspiration from military equipment, armored vehicles, California's coastline, and outdoor adventure, giving its watches a distinctly utilitarian character. Its current lineup includes the Model C Field Explorer, Sea Storm, Dark Seal, Model A.5, and Land // Sea GMT, alongside a collection of parachute, leather, and canvas straps. Seals differentiates itself through small-batch production, direct-to-consumer distribution, and an emphasis on functional design rather than traditional luxury-watch mythology. 

Founder — Michael Seals

Michael Seals is the founder and lead designer of Seals Watch Company. A California native with a degree from California State University, Long Beach, he previously worked in digital marketing and entrepreneurship before turning his attention to watch design. In 2014, while sketching ideas at a local pub in El Dorado Hills, he developed the case concept that would become Seals' first watch. His designs were influenced by armored vehicles, machinery and his interest in rugged outdoor equipment. In 2016, Seals received U.S. Design Patent USD781723S1 for an integrated steel sport-watch case. He continues to design every Seals watch himself, maintaining the brand's distinctive aesthetic and hands-on approach.
